NHRC visit of Asian Law College (ALC) Students | 29th November 2017
Asian Law College is committed towards offering excellent legal education to its students. With the vision, regular experiential visits are scheduled for students for their hands-on experience, skills & knowledge development. On 29th November, a visit to National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) was scheduled for B.A.LL.B & LL.B students. In a highly interactive visit, the students got a chance to interact with Mr. Sunil Arora (Deputy Registrar/ Joint Registrar), the students got detailed brief about the aim of NHRC, its functions, its powers, its member composition and the Act under which it is governed by. Followed by, Mr. Sanjeev Sharma ( Head IT Dept.) interacted with the students and briefed them about the use of complaint management information system (CMIS) which is being used by NHRC to track and maintain the record of all the complaints which are filled with them. He also educated the students about the Facilitation Counter which was inaugurated on 2nd October 2014, which is being used for quick response and response to the complainants about their complaint status.Â
The session was concluded by Mr. M.S Gill (DSP of Police. Investigation Dept.), who elaborated upon the investigation proceedings and procedures adopted for complaints and at what stage some special cases are handed over by the High courts to NHRC. The overall session was very informative and the students really cherished the interaction with the heads of various departments.
