An integral part of Asian Education Group (AEG) – which is regarded as the largest centre for professional media, IT, law, management, fashion & hospitality education in Asia with world-class facilities – and ranked as one of the best B-schools in Delhi NCR, Sector 125 Noida-based Asian Business Schoolrecently organized its 7th Annual Convocation Ceremony for its students of PGDM 2017-19 Batch. The solemn event that was conducted virtually due to COVID-19 pandemic restrictions, took place on Saturday, 26th December 2020 at its campus located at Sector 125, Noida and it saw ABS students from the 2017-19 batch of Post Graduate Diploma in Managementprogram being felicitated and conferred with their coveted diploma certification upon the successful completion of their course of study.
Distinguished personalities like Dr. Sandeep Marwah, President, Asian Education Group (AEG); Dr. Lalitya Vir Srivastava, Director-AEG; Mr. Saurabh Sharma, Director-AEG; and Mr. Gurdeep Singh Raina Director-AEG not only graced the occasion with their august presence, but also hosted the event on behalf of the institute. And, Dr. Anubhuti Dwivedi, Dean-Academics; Dr. Shweta Batra, Dean-Examinations; Dr. Sunita Verma, Dean-Student Welfare; and Mr. Ravi Sharma, Dean-Corporate Resource Cell were the select academic panelists of Asian Business School for this solemn ceremony.
Proudly wearing their ceremonial robes, the illustrious students came together one last time to celebrate their accomplishments over the two years of hard work and struggle and did not fail to create memories to be cherished for their entire lifetime!
This much-awaited event started with the traditional Ganesh Vandana & Lightening of Lamp ceremony.
Dr. Anubhuti Dwivedi, who delivered the welcome address, acknowledged that it was indeed “a privilege to welcome the dignitaries on the dais and address the august gathering on this auspicious occasion.” Talking to the students, she said, “Today is a remarkable day for you because you have become a part of the privileged few students in India who have been able to complete their post-graduation and what lies ahead of you now is an enriching journey for which you should be humble and grateful to all the people who have made it possible for you, like your parents, your teachers, your friends and family members. This diploma is empowering you today, but it is also bestowing upon you a great responsibility to make the best use of it in your life and career.”
Addressing the august gathering next, Mr. Saurabh Sharma, Director-Asian Education Group (AEG) congratulated the passing out students and said that the institute was happy and proud of them. Advising the students on the path that lay ahead of them, he said, “This day marks the end of one phase of your life, namely the education phase, and rings in the working phase for you where we all would like you to excel in your achievements.” Referring to the challenging last 10 months of the pandemic, he said, “Notwithstanding the difficulties and troubles unleashed by the pandemic, it has also been a great learning experience for all of us in the sense that it has taught us to face challenges through an innovative recourse to technology.” Sharing some words of wisdom, he advised the students, “Life will continue to throw challenges. Look for every problem as an opportunity. Look for a tough problem … a bigger task … and come out a solution. That way you can achieve all success in your life and career.”
Thereafter, Dr. Lalitya Vir Srivastava, Director-Asian Education Group (AEG) presented the ‘Academic Report’ wherein he highlighted the academic excellence achieved by the ABS PGDM batch of 2017-19 and their great placements in top companies and brands across industries that has made the institute proud of its each and every student. Talking about the new world of corporate engagement that they would be entering now, he advised the students, “Things will be different; lot of things will be new. Adjust, accommodate, understand and have patience. Don’t give it up. Believe in yourself. Match your level with your potential. Be open to learning and align yourself with the opportunities through diligence, hard work and patience.”
Dr. Sandeep Marwah, President, Asian Education Group (AEG), who delivered his address next, truly livened up the ambience of the occasion with his most inspiring speech laced with some stirring Hindi couplets and exhorted students to lead the “Real Life” by giving them the highly motivating “ABCDEFG Mantra of Success”. Expounding the import of the rendered couplets and advising the students importantly, the highly accomplished international personality that he is, Dr. Sandeep Marwah said, “The time has come for you to leave the shadow of this tree (symbolized as your home & this institute) and move out into the tough, ruthless corporate world. Remember that you will never get to succeed and make a mark for yourself unless you are out of your comfort zone. Always respect Time … only those people have achieved success who have respected Time. Do not expect too much from people around you. Life is a long, curved pathway full of distortions and unforeseen problems. Make yourself strong, develop stamina to face any circumstances. Life is not a bed of roses; make your feet as strong as iron feet. It is the time of the survival of the fittest. So, learn every day. Learning is a process … keep on growing your education and caliber until you are the best. And, be hardworking and honest in all your endeavors.” He then spelt out his highly motivating “ABCDEFG Mantra of Success” where “A” stood for right attitude & ambition, “B” for belief in oneself, “C” for confidence/commitment/communication, “D” for dedication towards work & profession, “E” for unfailing enthusiasm, “F” for right focus & concentration in the choice of one’s work, and “G” for a well-defined goal in one’s life & career that should be repeatedly written down.
Next, the event saw the giving away of medals to toppers and the award of Post Graduate Diploma in Managementto the ABS students of PGDM 2017-19 Batch.
Mr. Gurdeep Singh Raina, Director-Asian Education Group (AEG), who spoke next, congratulated the graduating students and wished them all the best in their lives. He also shared a small inspiring story about “Rocks-Pebbles-Sand” for students to remember and ponder about in their journey of life that now lay ahead of them. The moral of the story was that: “You should identify your priorities in life and develop a good strategy to work towards fulfilling it rather than wasting your time and effort on unnecessary aspects of life.”
The Convocation Oath from passing out batch was then rendered by Dr. Shweta Batra, Dean-Examinations which was followed by the customary vote of thanks by Mr. Ravi Sharma, Dean-CRC and the convocation being declared closed.
The event concluded by the singing of the national anthem with due respect.
