This was followed by an address by Mr. Gurdeep Singh Raina, Director-Asian Education Group (AEG) who began by congratulating the graduating students and wishing them all the best in their lives. In his interesting talk, he took the students into the annals of history and referred to the first reference of Convocation that was found in the Taittiriya Upanishad dating back to Vedic Age when the ‘Guru-Shishya Parampara’ was in the way education was imparted and it was a day when the Shishya completed his education at the feet of their Gurus and sought their Blessings before going out into the wider world. “That,” he said, “was a great tradition that generated sacred thoughts and inspiration for the students and made them strong and ready to the face the world with confidence.” As part of this great country and its rich culture, he asked the students to remember this wonderful tradition and take it forward to the best of their abilities. Further, he advised the students that as they step into the world outside and continue on their jobs and careers, they should remember 8 Personal Excellence Keys to seek after, which he believed would make a big difference in their lives – namely, Integrity, Learn from Your Mistakes, Always Speak with A Good Purpose, Be Focused, Have Commitment, Take Ownership, Be Flexible, and Strike A Balance.

This was followed by the customary vote of thanks and the convocation being declared closed.

The event concluded by the singing of the national anthem with due respect.
